The Story

What began as a personal love of building became a craft business.

Thomas Striegel grew up in Las Vegas and has spent more than ten years working wood with his hands. It started the way most real things do — as something he did because he loved it. Over time that love grew into Silver State Woodworking: a one-maker business rooted in quality, natural materials, and a genuine attention to detail that a factory line can't reproduce.

Every piece is handmade to order. That means it's built for the way you'll actually use it — the size, the wood, the finish — rather than pulled off a shelf and hoped to fit. It also means the wood gets to be itself. Grain, knots, and color variation aren't flaws to sand away; they're the reason the piece is worth keeping.

No two pieces are exactly alike, and the whole business is built around that fact, not in spite of it. When you commission a piece from Silver State Woodworking, you are getting one thing made once — with a maker's name behind it.
