Custom Order Process

Commissioning a piece is a clear path — not a leap.

Five honest steps take you from a rough idea to a finished piece in your hands. No obligation to buy until the quote feels right.

Request

Reach out and tell me what you're picturing — a cutting board, a shelf, a gift, a one-of-a-kind piece. What it's for, roughly how big, which wood, any engraving. A few sentences is a perfect start; we'll fill in the rest together.

Design & Quote

I work out the approach — the wood, the proportions, the finish — and send you a clear, honest quote. Nothing is cut until you're happy with the plan and the price. Questions and changes are welcome; this is the part where we get it right.

Build

Then I build it by hand — one piece at a time, start to finish. This is where the wood gets to be itself: I work with the grain, the knots, and the color rather than sanding the character out of it.

Finish

Every piece gets a hand-rubbed finish that protects it and brings the grain up warm. If there's an engraving — a monogram, a logo, a date — this is when it goes on, so the piece leaves as truly yours.

Deliver

Finally it comes to you — one thing, made once, ready to be used, displayed, and kept. And when it's time for the next piece, you already know the maker.
